For the second year in succession, organisers of the Indian Grand
Prix were recognised by motorsport’s governing body as the ‘Best F1 Race
Promoter’ for the 2012 season at the FIA prize giving gala in Istanbul,
Turkey earlier this month.
The Buddh International Circuit, developed by the Jaypee Sports
International Limited (JPSI), in Greater Noida has now hosted two
Formula 1 races, with the inaugural event held only last year.
“This is indeed a very proud moment and I am honoured to receive this
FIA award for the second time on behalf of my entire team and the
country, whose support and enthusiasm was responsible for us to win this
award again,” said Sameer Gaur, the managing director and CEO of JPSI.
“This award will motivate us to host a grandeur Indian Grand Prix
next year and we would hopefully be able to complete a hat-trick of the
award,” he added.
