Ferrari suspended all working activities on Tuesday in
its Formula One factory in Maranello in the wake of the earthquake in
the region.
“After the earthquake, working activity
has been suspended for today. All the workers and employees have been
allowed to join their families,” Ferrari said on their Twitter feed.
World
championship leader Fernando Alonso tweeted “We are all going back home
... Today we woke up with another earthquake here in northern Italy! In
Maranello all ok.” Ferrari also said that “everything looks ok here at
the factory” as no damage appeared to be done by the 5.8-magnitude
tremor that struck the region of Emilia Romagna in the morning, causing
at least 10 casualties. Seven people died in the region in a similar
quake on May 20.
